Tigers ride high into Oak-town; sort of.

A series victory in Seattle… Bonderman with another solid start… and Carlos Guillen as your new left fielder.  Sort of.

The Guillen to left field move (though temporary to some extent), or Willis’ start on Tuesday… a lot of it sounds crazy.  But to me, at least they’re trying SOMETHING.  It seemed that, for the first third of the season, Leyland wasn’t willing to try anything new.  At least, he didn’t seem willing to try anything new that would actually help the team (IE Sheffield and his awesome throwing arm in left field).  Interestingly.. Guillen in left makes a lot of sense.  He may not like it, but if his defense is decent (similar to Marcus Thames) it gives them another left handed power bat in left field.

Hey, at least they’re trying.  And i’ve spent all day delivering tickets to friends for my box suite at the oakland coliseum tomorrow… its game time.  I’m not exactly stoked about the Rogers vs Harden situation (Harden is awesome when he’s on), but today’s win was big, and they’re not out of it yet.

And…. Detroit Tigers… 3-1 in the Jeff Larish era.
